About Us:

The purpose of the Sopchoppy Southern Baptist Church is to utilize the resources God has provided through our rich heritage and the gifts and talents of the membership to be the Body of Christ in this community, demonstrating Christian love by ministering to the needs of one another and all peoples in the community; and by encouraging mature discipleship through sharing the Gospel, providing learning opportunities and spiritual nourishment, by the regular worship of God and by obedience to the Great Commission of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Our Belief:

The Holy Scripture in the Old and New Testaments is the fully inspired inerrant Word of God of which God has completely preserved through all the centuries and is the only unerring rule of faith and practice. II Timothy 3: 16-17, Matthew 5:18

We believe there is but one living and true God, and that in the Godhead there are three persons - the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit - and these are equal in power, dignity and eternity, and all the character and attributes of God. I Corinthians 8: 4-6, I Peter 1:2

We believe that the sin of Adam brought death: condemnation and moral depravity on all mankind. Romans 5: 13-14

We believe the people of God were chosen in Jesus Christ before the foundation of the world; that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love; selected according to the foreknowledge of God, and that we will persevere through grace and glory. Romans 8: 28-30

We believe in the free offer of eternal life through the gospel to all men and aggravated guilt of those who reject it. John 3:16, Romans 8: 28-30

We believe that the conditions of salvation on the part of the sinner are repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Matthew 21:32, Acts 20: 21-22
