Southern Tennessee Medical Center, in conjunction with its sister campus, Emerald-Hodgson Hospital, is a 198-bed acute and skilled care facility.
Southern Tennessee Medical Center is a comprehensive medical facility licensed for 131 acute beds and 26 skilled care/nursing home beds and is fully accredited by the Joint Commission. The wide array of services available at Southern Tennessee Medical Center, combined with a qualified and diverse medical and nursing staff, is designed to meet the healthcare needs for the people and communities of Southern Middle Tennessee.
Emerald-Hodgson Hospital, located on the campus of the beautiful University of the South in Sewanee, is a 21-bed general acute care facility and a 20-bed skilled care facility which provides high quality health care for a progressive and supportive community. The nursing and support staff strive to provide individualized care directed to the specific needs of each patient.
The facility at Southern Tennessee Medical Center features a 10-bed ICU, a 12-bed Geriatric Psychiatry Unit, a 12-bed Acute Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit, a Skilled Nursing Unit, Sleep Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, five OR Suites and two Endoscopy Suites. There is also a 13-bay Emergency Room with over 15,000 annual visits. Emerald-Hodgson Hospital has a four-bay Emergency Room that sees over 5,000 patients every year. Radiology services include MRI, CT, PET/CT, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound and X-ray.
