The Spindale Dairy Goat Festival & Parade is dedicated to educating people about dairy goats and goats in general for the multi-purpose animals that they are. We also help to raise awareness of Heifer International and encourage donations to purchase dairy goats for families in need, globally. In 2010, our youth group, the Goat Festival Kids Committee, helped to raise and donate over $1200 to Heifer International. The festival itself is held in May on Main Street, Spindale, NC. There is an ADGA sanctuioned Dairy Goat Show, a Goat Parade and plenty of U.S. made goods. Music, food and interactive projects for the children are all part of this fun. Our next festival will be a two-Day event May 20 & 21 of 2011. You may even see the Mayor of Spindale kiss a goat!
