Starlight Drive-In (formerly Pioneer Drive-In), now under new ownership, has been providing affordable family entertainment since 1958. Despite the decline in drive-ins in Western Pennsylvania and nationwide, new owners, John and Beth, see a future for the Starlight Drive-In. a place where they would go to unwind on a Friday night after a hectic work week. Drive-in theaters aren’t resting on nostalgia. The mid-century icons are finding new audiences and installing HD-quality digital projectors, luring audiences to an evening of relaxation and family entertainment.
Drive-ins provide a romantic and nostalgic alternative under the stars; have the largest movie screens; snack bar menus and affordable entertainment for the entire family. Families can enjoy double feature first run movies at a fraction of the cost of indoor movie complexes.
With concession stand upgrades under way, the couple plans a video/pinball arcade, installation of a mini golf course for spring of 2016, expansion of the snack bar menu and special feature nights and events. Stop back often to see what’s new.
