Starry Night is an annual music and arts festival hosted by Campus House, a non-denominational church community at Purdue, with the hope of creating a welcoming space for the campus and Greater Lafayette communities to experience creativity and beauty together. Starry began over fifteen years ago with around a hundred people in a parking lot on campus, and it has since grown to welcome over 10,000 students and community members each year. Campus House has chosen to invest in this festival each year because we believe that everyone was created to create, delight in beauty, and know the ultimate Source of that beauty. We value artistic integrity without pretense, supporting passionate creatives, and loving this community we call home.
While Starry Night is hosted by Campus House, we ensure that the festival is a welcoming space for people of all faith backgrounds (or no faith background). We do not ask our bands, vendors, or volunteers to ascribe to a statement of faith or to agree with us on everything. This means that views and opinions expressed by our bands, vendors, and volunteers don’t always reflect the values and beliefs of Campus House, although all festival participants are expected to abide by a shared commitment to creating a family-friendly festival environment. While we-Campus House, festival participants, and members of the diverse community we call home-may disagree on many things, we agree on this: creativity and community are worth celebrating.
