About the Studio

The Studio of Art & Design is the premiere location in North County Coastal San Diego for the promotion and education of art and artist who specialize in watermedia. Our mission at the Studio of Art & Design is to provide artists the opportunity to develop their skills and creativity by offering world-class workshop teachers in a intimate classroom setting. We also provide gallery wall space for up to 60 paintings. Our classroom setting,15 students per workshop, offers enhanced teacher-student interaction. The Studio has been a presence in North County Coastal San Diego for the past 8 years.

History

Because of her love of watercolors, founder and watercolor artist Rikki Reinholz had a vision to create a gallery and studio where she could run her interior design business and watercolors could be featured and taught. Local artists began to teach classes at The Studio and students wanted to display their paintings.  

Eventually the gallery offered juried and private shows.  The need for more space to accommodate the growing demand from students resulted in a move to a larger space in 2005. It has grown to be a popular destination for well-known workshop teachers and a cozy spot to learn. Rikki currently teachers several times a week at The Studio, as well as other locations around San Diego county
