We Believe

The Word of God
We believe the sixty-six books of the Old and New Testaments are verbally and plenarily inspired; that they contain truth, without any mixture of error, in the original autographs; that they are infallible and inerrant in all matters of which they speak; and that they constitute God’s complete revelation and are the sole authority for faith and practice. We further believe that the Scriptures are to be interpreted according to a literal, grammatical and historical hermeneutic method.

The Trinity
We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons; that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, province and redemption. (I John 5:7)

God the Father
We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He foreknows all that should come to pass and concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (John 3:16-17, John 4:24)

Jesus Christ
We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His Substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, Ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to Earth. (Ish. 7:14, John 1:14, John 8:58, I Cor. 15:3-6, I John a:7, Acts 1:9-11, II Cor. 5:21, Hebrews 7:25, I Thess. 4:13-17)

The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgement, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that he is an abiding helper, teacher and guide. (John 16:8-11, Romans 8:14-17, Eph. 1:13-14)

Regeneration
We believe the Scriptures teach that salvation is by grace of God through His free gift which is neither merited or secured in part or in whole by any virtue or work of man (Eph. 2:8&9). The sole ground or basis of salvation is the death of our Lord Jesus Christ on the cross (Rom. 6:10, I Jn. 2:2). Because of His infinite character, His blood was sufficient redemption for all mankind, (Rom 3:24, II Pet. 2:1).

God, therefore, invites all men to be reconciled unto Him, (II Cor. 5:20). The single condition whereby the value of these propitiatory, redemptive, and reconciliatory works of the cross may be applied to the individual is by a personal faith in the crucified and risen Son of God, (Acts 16:31, Eph. 2:8&9). At salvation, the believer is called, regenerated, forgiven all sin, justified, sanctified, sealed by the Holy Spirit, made eternally secure, and endowed with every spiritual blessing, (Rom 3:24, 5:1, Eph. 1:3, 13, 14, II Cor. 1:22, Titus 3:5, I Cor 1:30).

The Church
We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ, baptized on a credible profession of faith, and associated for worship, work and fellowship. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of giving the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost World. (Eph. 5:22-32, Matt 16:16-18, Acts 2:38-41)

Christian Conduct
We believe that a Christian should live for the Glory of God and the well being of his fellowman; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (Col. 3:17, Phi. 2:14-16, II Cor. 9:6-8, Eph. 4:11-16)

The Ordinances
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ has committed two ordinances to the local church, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water into the name of the triune God. We believe that Christ instituted the Lord’s Supper for commemoration of His death. We believe that these two ordinances should be observed and administered until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 6:4, Col. 2:12, I Cor. 11:23-29)

The Last Things
We believe in the pre-tribulational and pre-millennial return of Christ; that after the rapture of the church, there will be a literal seven years of tribulation on earth; that this will be followed by the personal, visible return of Christ to put down His enemies and set up a thousand years millennial reign; that at the end of this reign, Satan will be loosed for a season and then cast into the lake of fire; that at this time, the second resurrection for all unsaved will take place; that they will be judged at the great white throne and will be condemned to eternal torment in the lake of fire; that Christ will reign forever as King of kings and Lord of lords with the righteous eternally.
