Mission
The Presbytery of Albany is a covenant community of congregations and ministers of Word and Sacrament who seek to be faithful children of God and disciples of Jesus Christ within the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
God has called the Presbytery of Albany to accomplish, in the name of Jesus Christ, those tasks that are best accomplished by this corporate expression of the church.
Therefore, we commit ourselves to:
-give glory to God through worship, prayer, and intentional spiritual fellowship;
-learn from, and rejoice in, our diversity;
-strengthen one another for ministry through appropriate training and leadership development;
-provide resources for the varied ministries within the presbytery community;
-develop opportunities for corporately sharing the gospel and witnessing to God's love in the world;
-carry out the functions required by our membership in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.);
-evaluate the work of the presbytery regularly and make those changes necessary to fulfill our mission more adequately; and
-become a sign of God's new creation in Jesus Christ with the Holy Spirit.
