"To Know Christ And Make Him Known".
The Church of St. Mary had its beginning on March 26, 1912 when the Rev. Samuel C. Fish began celebrating Holy Communion in Hampton Bays. Services were held in private homes and in a chapel until the present church was built on Ponquogue avenue in 1917. St Mary's is listed in the National Registry of Historic Places. The building is of Norman design with a richly decorated interior that distinguishes it as "One of America's most beautiful country churches". St. Mary's is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island and is an active parish located in the Hamptons.
