The Crossroads School specializes in assisting average to above average students, ages 5-14, with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia, to greater levels of independent learning. The focus of Crossroads programs is to develop the important academic skills of reading, writing and math while also enhancing a student’s executive functions, such as planning, prioritizing and problem solving. The programs also reinforce the skills of analytical and critical thinking. This is accomplished by employing an individualized, multi-sensory approach to teaching and through the innovative Speaking and Listening Program. As Crossroads students gain academic skills and learning strategies, they are transitioned to new school environments, either private or public.
