Founded in 1949 and now entering its 68th Season, The Island Players, Inc. is an organization dedicated to providing artistic experiences for the communities of Anna Maria Island and its neighboring cities through the presentation of stage productions. 

The Island Players is the oldest community theater in Manatee County. 

A great many hours and detailed preparation goes into each show. It takes a dedicated group of people who volunteer their time to make sure that stage curtain goes up for every performance: Actors, Directors, Stage and Assistant Stage Managers, Set Construction, Light and Sound Design, Set design, Costume design, Make-up and Hair, Props, Box office personnel, Ushers, House Managers, Advertising, Publicity, Program design & Sales .

Our support group, The Off-Stage Ladies, are always there to provide volunteer help before performances and food for the cast & crew at the technical rehearsal. Without these wonderful, fun people, we could not produce top-notch performances season after season.

We must not forget our loyal patrons who come back year after year, generation after generation to enjoy the delights our wonderful theater has to offer.
