The Pursuit is a post-harcore/metal outfit from Woodward, Oklahoma. The band was created in early 2008 by Kenny Ruiz, Zach Jackson and former guitarist Tyler Harris. Shortly thereafter, high school friends Garrett Sauls and Kyle Brewer joined the band. After playing a high school talent show, Tyler Harris decided to leave the band for personal reasons. We then went on to start work on an original debut EP "Virtue and Violence". The band then featured Kenny Ruiz on lead guitar an vocals, Garrett Sauls on rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Kyle Brewer on bass, and Zach Jackson on drums. In early 2009, bassist Kyle Brewer left the band to serve his country by joining the army. Midway through work on the EP, Jordan Wilson joined the band taking over rhythm guitar and vocals. In addition, Jake Murphy was added on bass. With a full line up, we could finish the EP. After completing the writing process, we recorded the debut EP, "Virtue and Violence". We are currently playing shows to promote the debut EP, get our music out there, and meet as many new people as possible! Now that we've found our sound, we're now also hard at work on creating a new album. We anticipate this album will take our sound to the next level. With a new and profound sense of direction, a passion for playing music for anyone and everyone, and more heart than a pack of care bears, we're excited to see what will happen.
