During its winter season, the Chorale will perform two works by the master of Baroque style, Henry Purcell, "Ode on St. Cecilia's Day" and "Come, ye sons of Art, Away." Under the direction of Douglas Anderson, a live orchestra and professional soloists will accompany The Chorale. This season's main performances are scheduled for December 6 in Brewster and December 7th in Cold Spring.
In addition to new performing members, the Chorale seeks non-singing members to assist in staging, Web hosting, photography, recording, and other non-musical needs. Seasonal dues and fees cost between $80 to $100 and include 5 tickets, which members can use or sell.
The mission of The Putnam Chorale, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization, is to provide the community with the experience of enjoying well performed classical and popular choral music, either in a concert environment or through outreach such as nursing homes, libraries, or community events and to provide an opportunity for area residents to learn the techniques of choral singing and attain the skill and discipline of concert performance.
