The Valley Church's desire is to change the spiritual landscape in the Valley and help people back to God. We want you to know that you have a church! If you live within the greater Shenango Valley area we consider you to be part of our church family. We are not very interested in creating another religious institution, but rather very much desire to live authentic lives before each other and God. We value deep relationships with one another and are constantly reaching towards the goal of doing life together. Much of life is lived as a masquerade, and The Valley Church is the one place in life where you can leave your mask at home. Whether we are doing well or not so well, we gather to worship God together. For many in our family, they are just investigating what Christianity is all about. If this is you... welcome. You can come and go as deep with us as you want to go. For others, they are very committed to Jesus Christ and are actively pursing their relationship with Him. This is The Valley Church, a place where you can come back to God. It's a place where if you have baggage, you can work through it. And as God moves in you and works through that baggage, you can help others do the same. Our mission is simple, to glorify God through lives transformed by the message of Jesus. WHAT WE BELIEVE: Life is all about knowing Jesus. And without knowing him, though life may be good in so many other areas, ultimately we are bankrupt. We believe that God entered into human history as the man Jesus the Christ. Unlike every other person that has ever lived or will ever live, Jesus lived without ever sinning against God, though scripture teaches that he was tempted in every way like we are. The Bible teaches that Jesus came on a mission, and that mission was to reconcile the relationship between God and man, a relationship that was separated when our first parents decided to divorce and forsake God. At that moment there was a ripple in the fabric of life that penetrated every area to such a degree that no person could undo it. However, the settlement that was due for this divorce, Jesus took upon himself through the cross and paid. That payment on the cross cost him his life, and for three days his dead body laid in a tomb. Typically this is where most stories end, but this is no ordinary story. On the third day, a Sunday, God the father brought the dead body of Jesus back to life. It's called the Resurrection, you might have heard of it, it's what we celebrate on Easter. For forty days after Jesus' body was raised back to life he continued to teach and prove himself to be the Christ. Over five hundred people at different times witnessed him alive during these forty days. Five hundred witnesses... that's pretty impressive in any court of law. After forty days, scripture says that Jesus ascended back to heaven where he is today alive and well, ruling and reigning over all people, all, nations, and all of time. Unlike what many people think, God didn't just create us and then leave us on our own. But rather is ever present in the people that have committed their lives to him through the third person of the trinity - the Holy Spirit. So not only does God dwell in heaven, but also in the hearts of men and women who worship him as Lord. And to help us worship him, he left us the Bible, which is the story of God. Which we believe to be the inerrant word of God. Why all of this? God put all this in motion for one reason, that we might glorify him. That we might live lives that point back to God and glorify him through our worship. Life is all about knowing Jesus.
