On a warm July Sunday afternoon in 1980, in answer to ads in the local paper soliciting Believers that at that point in time were not active in any local church, to meet with Pastor Robert Bloom at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Newhall, California (now known as Santa Clarita). Fifty-eight persons appeared at this inaugural service. Pastor Bloom shared his vision and goals for the new fellowship. Thirty-seven persons expressed their feelings and desire to share the Pastor's Vision. Part of the vision shared was that the Village church be wholly dedicated to the Honor and Glory of God's Beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, that there be no power struggles and no heavy power structure.
Another part of the vision that Pastor and People agreed to was: Village Church should exist, buy property, pay expenses, build buildings on only the Sunday morning tithes and offerings and that all other offerings should be given away, which has been done, and the Church greatly blessed because of this unselfish system.
After meeting in a park community building, we moved to an office building for our services. Then hearing of some property with a small church-building on it, we leased and then later bought it.
The present beautiful sanctuary was built on a "pay as you go" plan and was paid for upon dedication on June 10, 1990.
The Village Church is a body of believers with a vision for the future, outstanding unity of purpose and a strong desire to reach the lost for Christ in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Pastor, Staff, Church Board of Trustees and Congregation desire, above all, to bring Honor and Glory to the Beloved Son-of-God, our Lord Jesus Christ.
