About Us:
Completed in 2013, Villages Rehab & Nursing Center boasts some amenities more akin to a posh resort than a skilled nursing facility. Patients at the Villages Rehab & Nursing Center have their own private rooms with a view, complete with Wi-Fi, a chef catering to their dietary whims and needs, a television, telephone and access to screened porches and patios with large grills for outdoor cookouts.
Although patients come in with medical conditions that need treatment and care, the center is committed to seeing each one as a whole and unique individual, not just as a set of health-care problems to deal with. Specializing in intensive rehabilitation and outpatient therapies, the 120-bed facility departs from the traditional model of nursing-center layouts and is designed instead to look like a cluster of adjoining residential homes with four distinct “neighborhoods” on the inside.
A Community of Villages
Each neighborhood features 30 rooms and its own generously proportioned lounge, dining area and a kitchen with a professional chef. Patient rooms circle the neighborhood’s furnished lounge area, providing social interaction with familiar faces each day.
A common fixture seen in most medical facilities – a nurse’s station, was deliberately omitted from Villages Rehab & Nursing Center. The Designers did away with them in an effort to distance the facility from having an “institutional- like” atmosphere. “The patients have the same staff around them every day so everyone gets to know each other:” says Debbie Brazill. It’s a home-like or resort-like atmosphere but with a high level of care.
Modern Technology
State-of-the-art health-care services also will include the most up-to-date Biodex equipment, which analyzes ongoing changes in a patient’s strength and balance and assists therapists in identifying the most effective therapy program for them.
The Biodex technology addresses neuromuscular evaluation, therapeutic exercise, gait training and range-of-motion difficulties in patients suffering from strokes, Parkinson’s disease, spinal-cord and traumatic-brain Injury, orthopedic conditions and vestibular disorders.
