We are resolved to grow in faith and fellowship with God and His children in this world and to go to heaven with Jesus Christ in the world to come. We endeavor to model ourselves after the church described in the New Testament, with scriptural teaching, worship from the heart, fervent prayer, and honest fellowship.

Churches of Christ seek to be the church of the first century here in the 21st century in its purity and simplicity as revealed in the New Testament. The Old Testament prophets foretold the establishment of the church (Isaiah 2:2-3; Daniel 2:44). Jesus promised to build His church (Matthew 16:18). The church, according to the apostle Paul was part of God’s eternal purpose (Ephesians 3:8-11). On the day of Pentecost, AD 33, The Lord’s church was established (Acts 2:38-47). We follow the pattern of the scriptural church in its original form: its work, worship, and organization.

The Tomlinson Run church of Christ began in 1947 in New Manchester, WV with disciples from the tristate area. Shortly afterward, they purchased an empty building nearby in Pennsylvania and have been meeting for worship there ever since. Over the years they have increased in number lead by several dedicated elders, taught by many faithful evangelists, and built by many dedicated members.

We continue to serve and worship the Lord according to the blessed guidance of the Word of God: without instruments, institutions, or denominational doctrines. We have members who love God and one another, elders and deacons who conscientiously serve to the Lord and the local church, and teachers and evangelists who skillfully handle the scriptures. It is our purpose to serve God faithfully in the tristate area for as many years as God blesses us with life.
