In 1973, O'Hara residents approved a
home rule charter, and adopted a Council-Manager form of government. We are
governed by a Township Council consisting of seven members, each with a four
year term. The President and Vice President are elected at-large, and each of
the Township's five wards elects a representative. Council appoints a Township
Manager who is responsible for day-to-day operations of our Township. The
manager implements policy and legislation. He or she is also responsible for
preserving the peace and enforcing ordinances
