Mission:
The mission of the Trenton Public Schools, in partnership with parents and community, is to provide each student with knowledge and skills to become a lifelong learner and a productive member of a democratic society in an atmosphere that affirms the uniqueness, dignity and worth of each person.

About the District:
Located in southeast Michigan’s Wayne County along the shores of the Detroit River on the extreme southern fringe of the Detroit Metropolitan Suburban Area, the district has long been known for its balance between residential, commercial, and industrial properties.  Within this 7.4 square miles are of approximately 20,000 residents multiple cultural, educational, and extraordinary recreational opportunities are available.  The district offers many desirable amenities including easy access to major freeways; major health care facilities; and several post-secondary educational facilities including: The University of Michigan, Eastern Michigan University, and Wayne State University. Trenton is a suburban community with a small town feel.  The community offers a wide-range of housing options. Civic groups, local government and the schools operate with a high level of collaboration.  The district has a tradition of excellence and a positive reputation – people move to Trenton because of the school system.

Trenton Public Schools enjoys a strong reputation for quality instructional programs, a tradition of student achievement, caring staff and a supportive community. Keys to the success of the district are the dedication and commitment of employees at every level and the strong, consistent support and involvement of the community.

Students at Trenton Public School excel in the academic world.  Most recently, the Class of 2007 earned $1.2 million dollars of scholarships.  Students were accepted to colleges and universities throughout the country, including but not limited to Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Michigan Tech, and Case Western Reserve.  Twenty-three members received Academic Gold Medals for maintaining a GPA of 3.5 or higher for eight consecutive semesters. All of our schools regularly meet and exceed their AYP goals.  Anderson Elementary, Hedke Elementary, and Taylor Elementary all received an “A” as their Education Yes grade.  Arthurs Middle School and Trenton High School both received a “B” as their Education Yes Grade.

All five of our schools are accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (NCA).  The district facilities include three elementary buildings (grades K-5), one middle school (grades 6-8), and one high school (grades 9-12).  Extensive academic, special needs and extra curricular programs are available through out the district.  Community support is demonstrated by strong parental and community involvement in the schools.
