About Us:
Who We Are
Trinity is a member congregation of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod with a congregational history of faithful Gospel proclamation since 1868.
Evangelical means we proclaim the good news that Jesus Christ has paid the penalty of our sin.
Our Mission: Together we hear, know and feed upon Jesus Christ, God's living Word, growing in Him and sharing Him to the glory of God.
Our Vision: As an instrument of Christ's mission, Trinity will be an inviting community, sharing the Good News of Christ as each person grows in joyfully using God-given gifts for loving service to our neighbors, locally and globally.
What We Believe
-The Bible is the inspired Word of God.
-Holy Scripture is the only source and authority for our teaching.
-It is only by God's free gift (grace) that we are saved and have a relationship with Him.
-The forgiveness of our sin is received by faith alone in Jesus Christ, God's Son and the world's only Savior.
-God has given us His Word in the Bible and in the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper to aid our growth in faith, love and service.
-While we wait for Jesus to return, our purpose is to seek to fill His eternal banquet table by inviting all people to know and serve Him.
What We Do
-Gather regularly to hear the Word of God, sing His praises, and offer prayer to Him.
-Offer Christian education through our PreSchool and K-8 Day School.
-Promote and encourage outreach to every area of our community as resources and opportunities allow.
-Grow in our faith through the study and sharing of God's Word on Sunday morning and throughout the week.
-Partner with other groups (such as Rebuilding the Breach in Gary) to reach the lost and downtrodden.
-Serve the community by supporting ministries to the needy (Trinity Care, Community Care Cupboard, etc...)
-Encourage one another through a variety of activities such as small group and service opportunities.
