Mission

The joint mission of Troutville Elementary and its community is to provide students the opportunities to acquire the knowledge and skills to become lifelong learners and responsible citizens.

We believe

Teachers, parents and the community share the responsibility of the support of the school's mission. Education is a continuing process enabling students to become confident, self-directed, lifelong learners. A child needs a variety of experiences to develop intellectually, personally, socially and physically. Diversity of instructional practices and strategies will accommodate multiple learning styles. Our school should prepare students to deal with issues and problems they will face in the future in the areas of technology and cultural literacy. Students should be given opportunities to develop responsibility, positive relationships and respect for themselves, others and all property. Challenging expectations increase individual student performances. A safe, orderly and physically comfortable environment promotes student learning. Our school actively promotes communication between parents and teachers.
