About Us:
A special feeling of community permeated the streets of downtown Troy for three months during the spring and summer of 2003 thanks to a 2002 Troy Foundation grant that sponsored the “Sculptures on the Square” art exhibit by world-renown artist, J. Seward Johnson, Jr.
The display featured 20 life-sized bronze figures, representing people of all ages, engaged in day-to-day activities. What better place to display these amazing, intricately detailed bronze “folks” than in a setting such as picturesque, downtown Troy.
The Troy Foundation, in partnership with Troy Main Street and the City of Troy is proud to have brought this unique exhibit to a community that prides itself on being the type of town where people can feel comfortable in their “day-to-day” activities–walking a dog, sitting on a park bench, gazing at the sky or reading a book in the grass–all quality of life opportunities. Enhancing your quality of life remains the primary commitment of The Troy Foundation.
