The Board of Education, administration and staff of the School District of South Orange and Maplewood are determined to fulfill the commitment of providing educational excellence for all of our students. To that end, we have collaborated with more than 130 community members in developing a strategic plan for the school district which will guide our decisions and efforts over the next five years. The planning process engaged the staff and community volunteers in revisiting the district’s vision and mission statements, reaffirming the values which guide our decisions and establishing goals, strategic objectives and action plans to fulfill these goals and objectives. The process was facilitated by the staff of the New Jersey School Boards Association, which provides this service to its member districts.
