About Us:

The Twilight Garden Club's members are just that - women and men covering a variety of ages who truly enjoy gardening. This group's volunteers plan, plant, water, mulch, and maintain the gardens at the historic R.D. Hubbard House.

The gardens at the Hubbard House are planned, maintained, and supported in conjunction with the Hubbard House, City of Mankato, and Blue Earth County Historical Society. The perennial beds, arbor, herb gardens, hosta gardens, stonework, walkways, shrubs, and light fixtures "reflect the Victorian period at its grandest". The gardens reflect flowers in parterres - that is, with paths between the flower beds. The established gardens to the front and rear of the Carriage House contain a wonderful mix of perennials and annuals, as well as separate beds devoted to hostas and herbs.

The gardens are often admired by passersby; many people stop to eat lunch in this turn-of-the-century park; or stop to take photographs of their families in the gardens; as have many wedding parties.

In addition to volunteering in the garden and programs during the winter months, an Arboretum Tour, as well as tours of local gardens are planned for the summer months. Many, many great ideas are shared during these tours!
