Mission Statement: To provide long-term care and housing to the citizens of Luck and surrounding communities.
History:
In 1947, how to better care for the aged was on the minds of the Luck Lutheran Church congregation. A Project to build an "old-folks" home was subsequently launched and a great deal of planning and sacrifice ensued before the idea became a reality. The original idea of a Lutheran Home was expanded and the project became non-sectarian with the final result being "United Pioneer Home, Inc." The United Pioneer Home opened in June of 1953 and was built using donated labor and free will donations of local church congregations and was open to any aged person of the area. It was the original "assisted living" facility in Polk county.
