The Haitian School for the Deaf was founded to provide life changing opportunities for the Deaf and hard of hearing community of Haiti through education. An HSD education secures a foundation for life by instilling educational, emotional, and social values for the Deaf and hard of hearing. HSD will provide an encouraging and safe environment, allowing students to thrive and become contributing members of the Haitian community. HSD achieves this by offering:

• ASL services in cooperation with local educational programs to instil language skills to its students
• Communicative tools allowing HSD's students to become productive citizens and achieve a level of independence
• A family support center for information and referrals to families with deaf and hard-of-hearing children
