Vineyard stands squarely in the center of orthodox Christian teaching, with our statement of faith firmly rooted in the tenets of orthodox Christian belief. Out of loyalty to Christ and the gospel, we have come to a number of convictions concerning the clear teaching of the Bible. We have boundaries, but our boundaries are broad and inclusive. In the spectrum of Christian churches:

• We are orthodox —affirming the Apostle's, Nicene, and Chalcedonian Creeds, which reflect historic Christian orthodoxy and the clear teaching of Holy Scripture.
• We are evangelical —affirming the atoning death and resurrection of Jesus Christ on our behalf, that we might experience the forgiveness of sins and new life through faith in Him. We are accounted righteous before God only by the merit of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, through faith in Him alone, and not by our own works or deserving.

• We are empowered evangelicals —affirming the present ministry of the Holy Spirit and the exercising of all the biblical gifts of the Spirit
