Warmer Winters
Gifting Hand-Crafted Warmth to People in Need!
Warmer Winters is an all-volunteer non-profit organization of knitters and crocheters who gift
beautiful warmth to people in need. Warmer Winters works through agencies that help people in
need. We gift primarilly to Leominster, Fitchburg and Gardner, but we have begun to expand to
include Worcester, Boston and even Springfield. If anyone knows of agencies that help people
in need, please let us know and we will put them on our list.
Warmer Winters gifted more than 3,000 items this Winter. We have about 75 knitters and
crocheters. we also have volunteers who do other things for Warmer Winters. Our volunteers
range in age from 8 to 96. We even have youngsters on our Advisory Council! They come up
with lots of interesting ideas.
Warmer Winters also teaches knitting in Adult Day Programs and after-school programs. Recently, we began teaching knitting to developmentally delayed adults at the Arc of Opportunity in Fitchburg.
We always need more crocheters and knitters. For more information e-mail Warmer Winters at
[email protected] and we will send you our monthly newsletter.
Joining Warmer Winters is "feeling good by doing good"!.
