About
Waukee Community School District (WCSD) is an exciting place! We are proud of the comprehensive programming we are able to offer our students in the areas of academics, performing arts and athletics.
WCSD is currently the 8th largest school district in Iowa serving more than 10,500 students from Clive, Urbandale, Waukee and West Des Moines, as well as open enrolled students from other communities outside the 55 square miles of our district boundaries.
For more than 100 years, the district has been committed to delivering a curriculum that is rigorous, relevant and promotes high levels of engagement. Our student body ranks high nationally on every measure of academic progress. We have one of the highest graduation rates in the state at 99.26% and more than 89% of our graduates go on to some form of postsecondary education.
Collectively, staff members work to remove barriers that may impact student progress and achievement, providing increasingly advanced coursework and instruction at all grade levels. Every employee, volunteer and community partner associated with our district works to deliver our mission and vision each day. Specifically, we want to partner with families to prepare every child for success after high school. Learning and doing what’s best for our students will ALWAYS be our primary focus.
