Wesley is part of a rich connection of Methodists all over the world who are dedicated to making disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. Our faith is guided by Scripture, tradition, experience, and reason. As United Methodists, we believe that each person is called to reach out to others as Jesus Christ did and to share the good news of God’s love for all people. While personal involvement is vitally important, we also believe that the church should be concerned and active socially outside the walls of the church building. We seek to care for those in need both physically and spiritually, to oppose injustice, and to help in attaining equality for all people through responsible social action.
One powerful aspect of our denominational heritage and experience is the aspect of our connection with other United Methodist churches. Part of our spiritual strength is conferencing or being connected. This is understood as a channel for God’s grace to nurture and enrich our personal lives and the life of the church. Wesley United Methodist Church is part of the North Texas Annual Conference. Within this conference are four, geographically-based districts. Wesley is a part of the East District.
