The West Deptford Middle School serves students in grades five through eight. Students in fifth grade are taught in a self-contained model similar to our elementary schools. This model eases their transition into middle level education. Students in sixth grade are taught on instructional teams for literacy, math, social studies and science. This year our seventh grade students are in a departmental model like our eighth grade students. All seventh and eighth grade students have literacy, math, science and social studies. Our eighth grade students also have two elective periods that allow them to choose from a variety of electives to complete their schedule.

Technology continues to be an integral area of focus at West Deptford Middle School . Computer usage is infused in every subject. In addition to the two online computer labs, our mobile lab has been upgraded with 28 new laptop computers and we have added a brand new mobile lab with an additional 28, state of the art laptops. Both mobile labs have wireless internet access. Each fifth and sixth grade classroom has a bank of three networked computers and all classrooms have at least one networked computer.

Our Library also has fourteen networked computers which allow students to research topics with an assortment of methods. Our students are truly preparing for life in the 21st century. West Deptford Middle School is committed to providing the best education possible.
