Mission  :

Whitestone Mennonite Church is called to unity in the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit by:

Proclaiming the Lordship of Christ,
Worshiping together,
Serving each other, our community, and our world,
Uniting in fellowship,
Nurturing each other into obedience of faith and, Inviting persons to join our life in Christ.

Beliefs:

We believe that God has revealed himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 

We believe that because o;f sin (both wrong done and right left undone) all of us become separated from God. We encourage everyone to accept the forgiveness offered through Jesus and, by the power of the Holy Spirit, to re-orient their lives to the teachings of Jesus. 

We believe that as disciples of Jesus we are to relate to each other and to the world in the same loving and forDonate way that Jesus relates to us. By the power of the Holy Spirit we seek to continue the ministry of Jesus until he returns. Together we work to overcome evil, to live justly, and to be freed from the enslavement of lives focused on accumulation and self-preservation. 

We believe that following Jesus means living lives of service to others, loving our enemies, and refusing to use coercion or violence. We practice adult believers’ baptism as a symbol of the forgiveness of sins, the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, and of becoming part of the body of Christ on earth—the church. 

Central to Mennonite teaching is the belief that Jesus’ earthly life was lived as a model for how we are to live and that He established the church to be a visible local assembly that gathers regularly for worship, Bible study and encouragement in right living. Mennonites understand that being a Christian is a lived faith not simply the profession of a set of beliefs. 

Whitestone Mennonite Church is affiliated with other Mennonite congregations through membership in Mennonite Church USA and Mennonite World Conference.

History:

Whitestone Mennonite Church began officially in 1886, in a small country church east of Hesston. Mennonite and Amish Mennonite settlers came together to form one congregation and called themselves the Pennsylvania Mennonite Church. 

In 1964, the congregation of the Pennsylvania Mennonite Church moved from the old facilities in the country to new facilities in Hesston, which they named Whitestone Mennonite Church. This move provided many opportunities to share our faith and as a result we have become a more rich and diverse people. 

Whitestone Mennonite Church seeks to be defined, not by our buildings or by our traditions, but by our faithful response to God’s love in Jesus Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we seek to be an expression of the breadth, strength, and diversity of God’s love for all people.
