It is our Mission at W.E.S., as principal and staff members, to prepare our students academically, socially, and physically to meet the challenges that they will confront throughout life. It is our hope that these experiences to become well adjusted, creative, productive, contributing members of our society and function effectively in our global society.

Our Vision

The stakeholders of Whiteville Elementary School share the firm belief that each child is gifted and can learn. The combined efforts of parents, students, teachers, staff, and community will implement these goals:

The school will provide a positive atmosphere rich with challenges: cultural, academic, and social to allow all children to reach their fullest potential.

The school will provide a challenging integrated curriculum and quality instruction in the basic skills necessary to understand concepts and communicate effectively in real life situations.

The school will provide opportunities for students to develop higher order critical thinking skills, creative thinking skills, appreciation of the fine arts, and the skills necessary to excel in a diverse technological society.

The school will provide opportunities for students to acquaint themselves with their own cultural heritage as well as the cultural diversity of our global society.

The school will provide oportunities for students to develop respect for self and others, self-discipline, responsibility, good health habits, citizenship, and respect for personal and school property.
