We at Wildwood Ranch provide an
environment for cats that is as close to their natural habitat as possible, while waiting for their
forever homes, cats get to be cats.
Our group of
concerned citizens assist shelters, rescues and animal welfare agencies rescuing
cats and dogs working together with these groups towards positive solutions to
the tragic problem of animal neglect, abandonment and euthanasia; promoting the
no kill attitude.
We are not a shelter and have limited capability to shelter
animals. Our facility takes in
cats when room is available to foster before they are placed in loving homes.
Our safety fences from Purr-fect Fence and some free roaming area as well as
indoor places cats cat relax. We interact with the cats daily to evaluate them
so that they will be matched with appropriate adopters. We are unique in as
much as our fostered cats have open spaces and a home not cages to enjoy, as we
believe every moment in all living beings lives are precious.
Many
of our cats have permanent residence at the ranch because they have not been adopted for various reasons including; medical or unresolved behavioral issue or are just to old to make major
lifestyle changes but we strive to place all cats that are adoptable.
We
keep a balance at all times of cats coming in and going out to keep our numbers
small by taking an aggressive action to adopt our animals to loving homes. Our guidelines to adoption are very
strict to protect the lives of the animals we save.
We
are also active in educating the public in all aspects of cat care and issues
using tools such as the Internet, public appearances, radio, newspapers, and
newsletters. Our most effective
publicity tool is our public image of being a caring, reputable and devoted
group and our fifteen-year success of successful adoptions.
