About Us:
From the beginning idea in June 1874 until the present day, Zion's Chapel has seen policy and structural changes, however, her Biblical principles and purpose remain the same. The early church consisted of one large room, later to be remodeled and used as the classroom building following the completion of the present sanctuary in March 1958. In 1972 the sanctuary was remodeled and redecorated with new furniture and carpet. In 1974, after contributions from the youth group as well as individuals, the church steeple was erected.
In August 1948 a parsonage was built in Roper with most of the work being done by members of the church. This would house preachers and their families until the present parsonage was completed in February, 1968. The church's fellowship hall was completed in 1989 providing much-needed space for church gatherings. A second parsonage was purchased to house the youth minister in 1997. In 2001 the sanctuary was completely remodeled and redecorated.Zion's Chapel has had missions support as a priority since it's inception and that support is ongoing. Presently, the church supports many missions around the world and locally. With much work still to do, the foremost and primary purpose of Zion's Chapel Church of Christ is to seek and save the lost
