The Strand Theatre opens and is dubbed both the 'Grandest Theatre in the South' and the 'Million Dollar Theatre.' The first performance was a comic opera called The Chocolate Soldier starring Eva Olivotti. JULY, 1925

1930's Famous radio program host Guy Lombardo airs his live radio program at the theatre while on tour. The Strand Theatre also begins remodeling and the selling of concessions begin for the first time during that year. Six auditorium murals painted.

1940's The war years - All but three of the theatre's famous chandeliers are removed from The Strand Theatre due to kilowatt rationing.

1950's John Wayne and William Holden are special guests at The Strand Theatre for their new movie premier The Horse Soldier.

1960's The Strand Theatre plays host to great cinema hits of the decade such as the comedy hit Odd Man In and The Dark At The Top Of The Stairs.

1970's Major renovation work begins on The Strand Theatre due to a huge community effort to restore the theatre to its original grandeur. The Strand Theatre is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, forever making its mark in history.

1980's The Strand Theatre celebrates its grand reopening after being fully renovated. The 80's also brought The Strand Theatre fame, as it was listed as the official State Theatre of Louisiana.

1990's The Strand Theatre celebrates record-breaking seasons throughout the 90s, bringing top-notch performances such as Cats, West Side Story, Fiddler On the Roof, Annie, and 42nd Street.
