Dr. Di Simone has always been interested in providing patients with the best possible care for their cancer, by always improving therapies with the newest discoveries and medications. He began his training with a solid scientific base with an Honors Chemistry degree from Johns Hopkins University, followed by a PhD in biological chemistry at Caltech. He directed research at the Scripps Institute in virology and immunology before obtaining a MD at UC Davis. He completed his training with Internal medicine residency and Hematology/oncology fellowship at UC San Diego. He has been involved in clinical practice and clinical research for over 20 years. He believes strongly in patient autonomy and choice, with the physician providing education and options to those with difficult diseases. He enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, both at home or traveling to national and amusement parks.
