As a fellowship-trained orthopedic hand and upper extremity surgeon, Clayton Nelson, MD specializes in treatment for a broad spectrum of elbow, wrist and hand conditions, including minimally invasive techniques. After completing his fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center, he went on to complete advanced training in microsurgical techniques and wrist arthroscopy under world-renowned plastic surgeons in Madrid, Spain. He has combined his education and research endeavors to contribute several published articles concerning hand injuries, arthritis and advanced nerve compression techniques and has a special focus on the treatment of upper extremity injuries among athletes. He is an active member in multiple surgical societies and travels annually to Peru for orthopedic missions. Dr. Nelson has been recognized as a top orthopedic surgeon by The Oklahoman Readers’ Choice Awards. He enjoys working with his patients to understand their needs and expectations in order to offer multiple options to help restore form and function to their upper extremity, so they can return to the activities they enjoy.
