Stephen Thaeler joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in March 2001. He is excited about the opportunity to help people make the smart financial decisions that are essential to long-term financial security.
Stephen has a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Weber State University. He also has the CFP® and ChFC® professional designations. He holds Series 6, 7, 63, 65 securities licenses plus life and health insurance licenses in Utah.
Understanding that the biggest obstacle to financial security for most people is their own behavior, Stephen serves as a personal financial coach to clients, continually reinforcing positive financial behaviors. He advocates time-tested financial principles, including disciplined, long-term saving and investing, careful debt management, and a thoughtful insurance strategy to manage financial risk. Stephen will work with you to establish specific, meaningful goals that are consistent with your values and then develop a personalized financial plan to guide your pursuit of those goals.
Active in his community, Stephen is a member of the Utah Symphony's Deer Valley Music Festival, the Salt Lake YMCA, and the Utah Financial Planning Association where he recently served as the past president and chairman of the board.
In his free time, Stephen enjoys football, spending time with family, and working out.
