Kurt Hegmann, MD, MPH, is a board-certified physician specializing in preventive, occupational and environmental medicine. He directs the University`s Rocky Mountain Center for Occupational and Environmental Health, one of 18 centers in the US. He completed medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed 2 residency programs, one in internal medicine and the second in occupational medicine. Dr. Hegmann specializes in the care of injured workers. He is particularly known for expertise in musculoskeletal disorders and the evaluation of commercial drivers (“DOT” exams). He also serves as an occupational medicine consultant. Dr. Hegmann"s professional interests include over 15 major research studies related to occupational health, particularly in the areas of musculoskeletal disorders and the health and crash prevention of truck drivers. Additionally, he has served as Chair of multiple national medical and occupational health organizations and boards. In his leisure time, Dr. Hegmann enjoys skiing, hiking and gardening.
