I was inspired to become a general surgeon after shadowing at Rex Hospital as a student many years ago. I love working in the very community I grew up in. My philosophy is to try to help patients regardless of whether or not they need surgery. Surgeons can be great stewards of healthcare for our patients. My areas of interest are gallbladder disease and hernias. I enjoy performing both open and minimally invasive surgery, including robotic surgery. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family, gardening, playing piano and trying new recipes.
