Dr. Sam Rahman is an interventional cardiologist who specializes in catheter-based procedures for the treatment of coronary artery disease. These procedures include stents, PCI, complex coronary interventions, peripheral arterial disease, and device therapy (Pacemaker and ICD implantations). After obtaining his MD degree at Damascus University, he completed a fellowship in cardiology at the University Joseph Fourier in Grenoble, France. He then completed a residency in internal medicine at St. Luke’s Hospital in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. He next completed a cardiovascular disease fellowship at the University of South Carolina and its hospitals (Richland Memorial Hospital and Dorn VA Medical Center), in Columbia, SC. At the University of Arizona he received advanced fellowship training in interventional cardiology with dedicated training for transcatheter cardiovascular disease interventions.In addition to being board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and interventional cardiology, Dr. Rahman held board certifications in subspecialty boards, including echocardiography, nuclear cardiology, and Heart Rhythm Society certification for device therapy.Dr. Rahman has practiced for many years in France, in Columbia, SC, and in Ohio, before coming to Florence, SC. During his career, he acquired vast clinical experience in the treatment of coronary artery disease and device implantation. He takes pride in putting his knowledge and experience towards helping his patients.
