Vivien Fongué, D.O., is an orthopedic surgeon with Baptist Health Orthopedic Care and member of Baptist Health Medical Group, an organization of more than 180 physicians in multiple specialties integrated within Baptist Health South Florida. He specializes in the non-surgical and surgical treatment of general, acute and chronic orthopedic conditions affecting the bones, joints and soft tissues, complex fractures, non-union and mal-union, posttraumatic reconstruction of upper and lower extremities, pelvic and actabulum fractures, and periprosthetic fractures.
Dr. Fongué has special training in orthopedic trauma surgery, ranging from simple isolated fractures to multiple musculoskeletal injuries. He earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine, in Kansas City, Missouri. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio and a fellowship in orthopedic trauma surgery at the University of Missouri School of Medicine in Columbia, Missouri. Dr. Fongué was an orthopedic trauma surgeon at United Health Service Wilson Medical Center in Binghamton, New York. He has authored peer-reviewed articles and presented research on his specialty. Dr. Fongué is a member of the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the Orthopedic Trauma Association and AO North America.
He is fluent in French.
