Dr. Xaviera Maya Carter is a board certified obstetrician-gynecologist. She is a native of Houston, Texas. She attended Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida where she graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She received her medical education at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Georgia and completed her residency training with Mercer University School of Medicine in Savannah, Georgia. Her range of practice includes normal and routine obstetrics and gynecology to high risk pregnancy and complex gynecologic care. Her particular clinical interests are abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, adolescent care, contraception, and family planning. She is heavily involved within the community, serving as a volunteer in organizations such as the March of Dimes. She has received numerous awards and has been featured on CNN. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated along with many other professional and civic organizations. Last but certainly not least, she is a wife and mother of two girls.
