From: Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community CenterRegistration is underway for the JCC Triathlon Sunday, April 30 taking place at the Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center (JCC) on Talamini Road in Bridgewater. The community is invited to participate in the Triathlon which benefits the JCC Camp and Preschool Scholarship Fund and JCC Special Needs programs. The JCC is a 501(c)(3).
Triathlon participants can register as an individual competing in all three components of the race -- Swim, Bike or Run -- or as part of a relay, competing in one or two components. If registering for the relay (for either one or two components), an individual can choose their own relay partners, or the JCC will pair an athlete with other teammates. Any age or ability level is welcome to participate.
Sprint and Super Sprint options are available. The Sprint includes Swim/10 Minutes, Bike/30 Minutes and Run/3.1 Miles. Super Sprint features Swim/5 Minutes, Bike/15 Minutes and Run/1.5 Miles. The first wave of the Triathlon begins at 7:30 AM, and the event will conclude at approximately 3:00 PM.
The Swim component will be beheld indoors, the bike component will take place indoors on spin bikes, and the Run 5K route will leave from and return to the JCC.
Training sessions for all three components of the Triathlon are available at no fee for all registered athletes who are JCC Members or JCC Triathlon Members. The Training schedule is posted on the Triathlon website: ssbjcc.org/tri23. (Minimum of 4 participants is required/session.) The special JCC Triathlon Membership is available through April 30 for $250/person for anyone not already a JCC member. This membership includes access to the JCC Fitness Center, Pool, Group Fitness Classes, use of the Gymnasium, and monthly events. The registration fee for the Sprint option is $75/Individual, or $30/Person for the 3-Person Relay. The registration fee for the Super Sprint option is $40/Person for an Individual, or $20/Person for a 3-Person Relay. For additional information, please contact [email protected]

The Shimon and Sara Birnbaum Jewish Community Center is a social service agency that serves residents of all ages residing in Somerset, Hunterdon and Warren Counties, providing fitness, recreational, social, cultural and educational programs for the entire community. The state-of-the-art facility includes an indoor salt based heated pool (with ramp access), outdoor salt based heated pool with dome enclosure during the off season, gymnasium, fitness center, group fitness studios, and an outdoor adult fitness training facility. The JCC Blaustein Early Childhood Center offers childcare programs for infants ages six weeks through full-day kindergarten. JCC Camp Ruach is the JCC’s summer day camp for children ages three years through 9th Grade, including a Russian Camp. The JCC offers a variety of special needs programs including the J-Zone Respite Program for children ages 5-16, J-Cares Adult Intern Program, J-Connects Social Programs for Adults, Adaptive Aquatics Skills Program, and the Rising Tide Special Olympics Swim Team. The JCC has an ADA accessible outdoor classroom with sensory garden, and the campus also features an amphitheater.
